Welcome to the webpage for Project 0085-0148, Replacement of Bridge No. 01406 Carrying Route 163 over Oxoboxo Brook in Montville.
A virtual public informational meeting for the project will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. This meeting aims to inform the community about the proposed project, gather feedback, and answer any questions.
This project will build a new bridge structure that will meet all current design requirements for improved safety and hydraulic performance.
The project will include a new single span precast concrete bridge on pile supported abutments, full depth roadway reconstruction, re-grading of the existing channel embankments, and roadway safety improvements.
Right-of-way impacts are associated with the proposed improvements include temporary impacts for removal of the existing structure, grading of slopes, and easements for the slopes based on the proposed slope limits.
Construction is expected to start in 2028, depending on funding, right-of-way acquisition, and permits. The estimated cost is $3 million with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
