Welcome to the webpage for Project No. 0074-0070, Replacement of Bridge No. 06039, Salem Road over East Branch Eightmile River, in Lyme.
An in-person public informational meeting for the project was held on July 17, 2025, at Lyme Town Hall at 480 Hamburg Road in Lyme at 6:30 p.m.
The purpose of this project is to replace the bridge and create a new service life by designing a structure that meets all current design and safety standards.
The right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed improvements. are on private property and will consist of temporary construction easements for access, grading, and water handling, and a slope easement. Additionally, a drainage right-of-way will be required for the proposed drainage system.
Construction is anticipated to begin in 2027 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $4 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
