Project 0072-0084 Webpage

Welcome to the webpage for the rehabilitation of bridge carrying Route 12 over the Shetucket River in Lisbon and Norwich.

A virtual public informational meeting for the project was held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. The recording of that event can be accessed at the CTDOT Virtual Public Information Meeting Video Library.

The project involves replacing the existing superstructure with continuous steel beams. New bearings will be required and a cast-in-place concrete deck with waterproofing membrane and bituminous concrete overlay will be installed, along with new parapets and approach guiderail. The existing abutments will be modified to accommodate the new steel beams.

Construction is expected to start in summer 2027. The estimated cost for this project is $11.6 million, with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
