The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is developing plans to rehabilitate Bridge 01735 carrying Twenty Four Bumper Road over Route 8 in Harwinton.
The scope of work for this project is anticipated to be either bridge rehabilitation or a full bridge replacement. The project will also address other necessary improvements.
The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in May 2028, with construction anticipated to start in the Spring of 2029, assuming acceptance of the project, availability of funding and receipt of any required right-of-way and environmental permits. This project will be undertaken with eighty percent (80%) federal and twenty percent (20%) state funds.
It is CTDOT's policy to keep the public informed and involved when such projects are undertaken. A public informational meeting will be conducted upon the completion of the preliminary design. CTDOT expects to hold a public hearing upon the completion of the preliminary design.
