The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is developing plans to rehabilitate, replace or remove Retaining Wall Nos. RW-040-149-004 & RW-040-149-005 on Route 149 (East Haddam Moodus Road); Retaining Wall Nos. RW-040-151-005 & RW-040-151-006 on Route 151 (Moodus Leesville Road); and Retaining Wall No. RW-040-434-002 on Route 434 (Hopyard Road) in East Haddam.
The project will consist of either rehabilitating, replacing or removing the aforementioned retaining walls in East Haddam. Each retaining wall will be assessed individually for consideration of the recommended rehabilitation alternative.
The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in 2028, with construction anticipated to start in 2029, assuming acceptance of the project, availability of funding and receipt of any required right-of-way and environmental permits. This project will be undertaken with 100% state funds.
