The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is hosting three public information meetings concerning the I-95 Fairfield/Bridgeport Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) Study to gather public input on improving safety, mobility, and operations along the I-95 corridor between Bridgeport and Fairfield.
“CTDOT is committed to improving safety, mobility, and operations along the I-95 corridor between Bridgeport and Fairfield, one of the busiest corridors in the region,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager David Mancini. “The study aims to streamline our project development and environmental review process—accelerating project delivery and minimizing overall costs. CTDOT encourages community members and travelers alike to share their travel experiences to help inform decisions and improvements in the project area.”

It will provide an opportunity for residents, property owners, community leaders and advocates, business owners, and employees to inform the study team about their experiences in and around the I-95 study area.
The recommendation for improvements to I-95 from Exit 19 to approximately Exit 30 follows the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Planning and Environment Linkages (PEL) process—a collaborative and integrated approach to transportation planning that considers environmental, community, and economic goals early in the planning and design process.
