The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct a virtual public information meeting concerning the Greater New Haven Transit District (GNHTD) New Facility Project on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
The virtual public information meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project, including site selection. The meeting will take place on Zoom, and registration is required. A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation, which will be recorded. "This project will give the Greater New Haven Transit District a centralized facility to store, charge, and maintain their all-electric paratransit fleet, ensuring flexibility to meet growing demand and provide the best service to those in need,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Charles Wiegert. “We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the project’s design.”
Right-of-way impacts are not associated with the proposed project.
Construction is anticipated to begin in spring 2027. The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $79.6 million, with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.

This meeting will also be livestreamed on the CTDOT YouTube channel; no registration is required. Non-English language closed captioning will be available on Zoom and YouTube. The recording will also be posted immediately following the meeting in the list of CTDOT virtual public meetings at portal.ct.gov/ctdotVPIMarchive.
