Public Information Meeting Replacement of Existing Stone Culvert East Street in Stafford

4/14/2025

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct a hybrid public information meeting concerning the replacement of existing stone culvert under Route 19 carrying East Street in Stafford, on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Stafford Community Center at 3 Buckley Highway in Stafford Springs. This meeting facility is ADA accessible.

This hybrid public information meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project. For additional information, visit https://portal.ct.gov/dotstafford0134-0151.

“This project will replace a structurally deficient culvert to improve roadway drainage and safety operations in the project limits, “said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Nicholas Ivanoff. “We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design.”

Right-of-way impacts are associated with the proposed improvements which include temporary construction easements, drainage easements, an aerial easement, right to remove and reset stone wall, and right to grade and construct driveways.

Construction is anticipated to begin spring 2027. The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $2.7 million, with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.

Individuals with limited internet access can listen to the meeting by calling (877) 853-5257 and enter Meeting ID  815 1679 8804. Individuals with hearing and/or speech disabilities may dial 711 for Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS). Individuals may request that project information be mailed to them within one week of the meeting by contacting Nicholas.Ivanoff@ct.gov or (860) 594-2597.

Language assistance may be requested by contacting the CTDOT Language Assistance Call Line (860) 594-2109. Requests should be made at least five business days prior to the meeting. Language assistance is provided at no cost to the public and efforts will be made to respond to timely requests for assistance.
