The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct a hybrid public information meeting concerning the replacement of existing stone culvert under Route 19 carrying East Street in Stafford, on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Stafford Community Center at 3 Buckley Highway in Stafford Springs. This meeting facility is ADA accessible.
This hybrid public information meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project. For additional information, visit https://portal.ct.gov/dotstafford0134-0151.
“This project will replace a structurally deficient culvert to improve roadway drainage and safety operations in the project limits, “said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Nicholas Ivanoff. “We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design.”
Right-of-way impacts are associated with the proposed improvements which include temporary construction easements, drainage easements, an aerial easement, right to remove and reset stone wall, and right to grade and construct driveways.
Construction is anticipated to begin spring 2027. The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $2.7 million, with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
