The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is developing plans to rehabilitate/replace Bridge No. 01663 carrying Buckingham Avenue (S.R. 736) in Milford.
The project involves addressing deficiencies associated with the existing Bridge No. 01663. The needs of the project are improving the existing condition of this bridge to overall satisfactory condition or better, meeting the rating factor requirements for BRSDM, meeting the minimum design requirements of CTDOT Drainage Manual for hydraulic opening, scour design and other design requirements.
The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in October 2029 with construction anticipated to start in spring of 2030, assuming acceptance of the project, availability of funding and receipt of any required right-of-way and environmental permits. This project will be undertaken with a combination of federal and state funds.
