The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is developing plans for pavement rehabilitation on I-95 eastbound and westbound in Westport, with upgrades to the existing guiderail, illumination, and drainage systems. Additionally, the right shoulders will be widened for improved safety. This project begins at the easterly side of the Saugatuck River bridge crossing and continues for approximately four miles to the Sasco Creek bridge crossing.
The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in the Spring of 2028, with construction anticipated to start in the Spring of 2029, assuming acceptance of the project, availability of funding, receipt of any required right-of-way, and environmental permits. This project will be undertaken with ninety percent (90%) Federal and ten percent (10%) State funds.
It is the CTDOT’s policy to keep the public informed and involved when such projects are undertaken and important that the community share its concerns with the CTDOT to assist in the project's development.
