CTDOT Invites Public to Comment on the Connecticut 2055 Long-Range Transportation Plan

4/09/2025

CTDOT holding two virtual meetings on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) invites the public to learn more about and comment on Connecticut 2055, a strategic blueprint highlighting the goals, performance measures, policies, and investments needed to develop the state's transportation system over the next 30 years.

"Connecticut 2055 will be a visionary plan for all transportation users in our state,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Commissioner Garrett Eucalitto. “With Connecticut 2025, we will continue to prioritize safety, drive economic growth, increase mobility, connect communities, and enhance lives through a forward-thinking multimodal transportation system.”

Members of the public are encouraged to submit comments, questions, and take the survey to share their transportation experiences during the initial 45-day public comment period beginning April 9, 2025. Comments and questions can be submitted by emailing DOT.LongRangePlan@ct.gov, calling 860-594-2020, or visiting portal.ct.gov/LongRangeTransportation. The public comment period ends May 23, 2025.

CTDOT is hosting two virtual public information meetings on Thursday, April 24, 2025, to provide an overview of the Connecticut 2055 Long-Range Transportation Plan, gather feedback on the Plan’s draft goals, and gain insight from the public on what they want to see reflected in the future of transportation in Connecticut.

Registration is required to attend the virtual meetings. To register, please visit portal.ct.gov/LongRangeTransportation. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to access the Zoom meeting. Both meetings will present the same content, and a question & answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation. Following the meetings, the recordings will be available on the Plan’s website with captions in English and Spanish.

Individuals with limited internet access can listen to the 12 p.m. meeting by calling +1-305-224-1968 and entering the Meeting ID: 868 8445 1053. Individuals with limited internet access can listen to the 6 p.m. meeting by calling +1-305-224-1968 and entering the Meeting ID: 834 6564 8484. Individuals with limited internet access may also request that project information be mailed to them within one week by contacting the Plan Team at DOT.LongRangePlan@ct.gov or 860-594-2020.

Individuals with hearing and/or speech disabilities may dial 711 for Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS). Language assistance may be requested by contacting the CTDOT Language Assistance Call Line 860-594-2109. Requests should be made at least five (5) business days prior to the meeting. Language assistance is provided at no cost to the public and efforts will be made to respond to timely requests for assistance. In addition, the virtual public information meetings will have closed captions available.

The public is encouraged to visit portal.ct.gov/LongRangeTransportation to sign up for email updates and stay up to date with the latest updates on the Connecticut 2055 Long-Range Transportation Plan.
