Replacement of Illumination Systems in Cromwell

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is developing plans for the replacement of illumination systems in Cromwell.

The project involves the installation of a new roadway lighting system and the replacement of an existing roadway lighting system at Route 9 from south of Coles Road (Route 9 northbound mile 28.66 and Route 9 southbound mile 28.61) through the Route 372 interchange (Route 9 northbound mile 27.35 and Route 9 southbound mile 27.19) in Cromwell.

The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in February 2026, with construction anticipated to start in the summer of 2026, assuming acceptance of the project, availability of funding and receipt of any required right-of-way and environmental permits. This project will be undertaken with 80% federal and 20% state funds.

It is the CTDOT’s policy to keep the public informed when such projects are undertaken and important that the community share their concerns to assist in the project’s development.

If anyone has any questions or comments on this project, contact Mr. Jon Andrews, Project Manager, at (860) 594-2792 or Jon.Andrews@ct.gov. Please reference State Project No. 0171-0508.
