The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is hosting two meetings concerning the I-95 Greenwich Planning and Environment Linkages (PEL) Study. The first meeting will be on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from 6:30-9 p.m. at Greenwich High School at 10 Hillside Road in Greenwich. The second meeting will be virtual on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 12-1:30 p.m. on Zoom, and registration is required. To register, visit i95Greenwich.com. Residents, business owners, community organizations, and members of the public are encouraged to attend to share their transportation-related experiences in the corridor at the upcoming public meetings.

“CTDOT is committed to enhancing safety and mobility along one of the most vital corridors in our state,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Jonathan Dean. “The I-95 Greenwich PEL study represents a crucial step in addressing the transportation needs of the community and commuters. We encourage the public to participate in these information meetings, as their input is invaluable in shaping the future of this corridor. The collaborative nature of the PEL study allows us to integrate community feedback early on so that the decisions reflect the needs and concerns of all stakeholders.”

CTDOT is performing the I-95 Greenwich PEL study, which began in 2023, to analyze potential improvements for safety and mobility along the I-95 corridor from the New York State Line to Exit 7 in Stamford and along U.S. Route 1 within the study limits. A PEL study is a collaborative approach to decision-making used to identify transportation issues and environmental concerns. This integrated approach considers environmental, community, and economic goals early in the planning process and uses this information to transition from the long-range planning process to transportation project development and environmental review.

This is the first series of public information meetings for the study, and both sessions will include the same content. The in-person meeting will follow an open-house format, allowing the public to ask the study team one-on-one questions regarding the study. For the virtual meeting, a question-and-answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation. For more information about the I-95 Greenwich PEL Study, visit i95Greenwich.com.
