Public Invited to Informational Meeting Regarding Route 15 Northbound Interchange 62 Ramp Reconfiguration in North Haven

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct a virtual public information meeting concerning Route 15 Northbound Interchange 62 ramps reconfiguration on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 6:00 p.m.

The virtual public information meeting is being held to provide the public and local community an opportunity to learn about the proposed project and allow for open discussion of any views and comments concerning the proposed improvements. The meeting will take place on Zoom and registration is required. A question-and-answer session will immediately follow the presentation which will be recorded. For instructions on accessing the meeting and ways to provide comments and ask questions, please visit https://portal.ct.gov/DOTNorthHaven100-182.

“This project will address high crash rates and substandard geometric conditions at Interchange 62 on Route 15 northbound, including the construction of acceleration and deceleration lanes to current design standards,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Jeff Pfaffinger. “We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design.”

There are right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed improvements. Right-of-way impacts include rights to reconstruct driveways to tie into the altered road edges of the pavement, partial property acquisitions for the construction of the widened Dixwell Avenue, installation of traffic signal mast arm foundations, relocation of utility poles, and an easement for the installation and maintenance of guiderail on the north end of Ridge Road.

Construction is anticipated to begin in spring 2026, based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights-of-way, and approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $17.8 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
