The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct an in-person public information meeting concerning the replacement of the bridge carrying Route 189 over East Branch Salmon Brook in Granby, on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at Granby Town Hall at 15 North Granby Road in Granby.
The public information meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project. For additional information, visit portal.ct.gov/DOTGranby0055-0147.
“The purpose of this project is to replace the existing bridge, prioritizing improved safety and durability for roadway users,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Ken-Taro Plude. “We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design.”
Right-of-way impacts are associated with this project. Route 189 will be closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic for the duration of construction. The proposed detour is approximately 24 miles using state routes.
Construction is anticipated to begin fall 2026. The estimated cost for this project is approximately $2.3 million, with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
