The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct a public information meeting concerning intersection improvements at Route 10, S.R. 745, and Kimberly Avenue on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at Betsy Ross Arts Magnet School at 150 Kimberly Avenue, New Haven.
The public information meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project. A Q&A session will immediately follow the presentation. For additional information regarding the meeting and ways to provide comments and ask questions, visit https://portal.ct.gov/dotnewhaven0092-0681.
"This project enhances safety and operation at the Route 10 and Kimberly Avenue intersection, with dedicated left turns on all legs and multi-modal improvements on S.R. 745, including on-street parking and a grade-separated bicycle lane." said Project Manager Michael Laurice. “We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design.”
Right-of way impacts are anticipated. The impacts include partial takes at the corners of the intersection of Route 10, S.R. 745, and Kimberly Avenue to accommodate the necessary width for pedestrian sidewalks, as well as construction easements to construct the required improvements.
Construction is anticipated to begin fall 2026. The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $7.6 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
The meeting facility is ADA accessible and individuals with hearing and/or speech disabilities may dial 711 for Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS). Individuals may also request that project information be mailed to them within one week of the meeting by contacting Project Manager Michael J. Laurice at Michael.laurice@ct.gov or (860)-594-3199.
