The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct a virtual public information meeting concerning the Computerized Traffic Signal System (CTSS) Replacement at Route 10 in Cheshire on October 24, 2024, at 5:30 p.m.
The virtual public information meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project. The meeting will take place on Zoom, and registration is required. A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation, which will be recorded. “The purpose of the project is to replace the outdated traffic signals along Route 10, connecting them with fiber optic and wireless communication back to CTDOT headquarters, which will also enable advanced technology to monitor traffic and reduce travel times,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager John Lockaby. “We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design.”
Right-of-way impacts are expected to be minimal around existing signal equipment and sidewalks at most project intersections.
Construction is expected to begin summer 2026. The estimated cost is $18.35 million, with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
