The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is developing plans for the installation and revision of traffic control signals in various towns and cities in the greater-Hartford region.
The project will upgrade or revise traffic control signal equipment to current standards at the project locations. The work will include support structures (mast arms or span poles), cabinets, controllers, pedestals, signal heads, conduits, vehicle detection equipment, coordination/communication equipment, signing and pavement markings, and pedestrian control features.

The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in May 2026, with construction anticipated to start in the winter of 2026, assuming acceptance of the project, availability of funding and receipt of any required right-of-way and environmental permits. This project will be undertaken with 100% state funds.
It is CTDOT's policy to keep the public informed and involved when such projects are undertaken. It is important that the community share its concerns with the CTDOT to assist in the project's development. A public informational meeting will be conducted upon the completion of the preliminary design.
