The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that the fencing at the Mystic River Scenic Overlook Area between Interchanges 89 and 90 on I-95 Northbound is scheduled to be removed and replaced beginning September 18, 2023 and all locks will be removed.
Commemorative locks are located on the fencing at the Mystic River Scenic Overlook Area. This fencing is scheduled to be removed beginning September 18, 2023. Locks will be discarded along with existing fencing, unless removed by the owner prior to the scheduled fencing work. If a person would like to retain their lock(s), please remove items as soon as possible. As construction activities can be ahead of schedule, this work may begin sooner than its original scheduled date.
DOT Project No. 0058-0340 was awarded to American Industries, Inc. at a cost of $38,250,000.00 on January 21, 2023 and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2024. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 2 in Norwich.
