Resurfacing I-84 in Vernon, Tolland, and Willington

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing the start of milling and paving on I-84 Eastbound between Exit 68 to Exit 71 and I-84 Westbound between Exit 71 to Exit 67 to begin on Sunday, August 28, 2022.

This project consists of milling and overlaying portions of I-84 and associated bridges and ramps in Vernon, Tolland, and Willington. This project also involves reconstruction of deck ends, bridge joint work, membrane, and intersection improvements in Tolland.

DOT Project No. 0146-0204 was awarded to Empire Paving Inc. at a cost of $22,405,696.55 on August 2, 2022 and is scheduled to be completed in August 2023. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

Starting August 28, 2022 and continuing through the fall with an anticipated winter shutdown around November 30, 2022, there will be various lane closures on I-84 Eastbound between Exit 68 to Exit 71 Sunday through Friday from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. There will also be various lane closures I-84 Westbound between Exit 71 and Exit 67 Sunday through Friday from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
