The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled detour of Sigourney Street traffic between the I-84 Exit 47 westbound off-ramp and I-84 eastbound on-ramp beginning September 27, 2021. The detour will remain in place for approximately one year and is necessary to facilitate ongoing bridge rehabilitation activities.

- The section on Sigourney Street between the Sigourney Street/Park Terrace Roundabout and the I-84 westbound Exit 47 off-ramp will be detoured for northbound (non-truck) traffic via Park Terrace north to Capitol Avenue, left on Capitol Avenue west, follow Capitol Avenue westbound to Laurel Street, right on Laurel Street, follow Laurel Street northbound to Hawthorn Street, right on Hawthorn Street, follow Hawthorn Street eastbound to Sigourney Street.
Truck Traffic Detour Route:
- I-84 eastbound on-ramp truck traffic south of the Sigourney Street bridge will be detoured for eastbound traffic via Park Terrace north to Capitol Avenue, right on Capitol Avenue, follow Capitol Avenue eastbound to Broad Street, left on Broad Street north, follow Broad Street northbound to I-84 east on-ramp; I-84 Eastbound on-ramp traffic north of the Sigourney Street bridge will be detoured for eastbound traffic via Hawthorn Street, follow Hawthorn Street westbound to Laurel Street, turn left on Laurel Street south, follow Laurel Street SB to Capitol Avenue, right on Capitol Avenue west, follow Capitol Avenue WB to Sisson Avenue, right on Sisson Avenue north, follow Sisson Avenue northbound to I-84 on-ramps.
- I-84 westbound Exit 47 off-ramp truck traffic will be detoured for westbound traffic via I-84 westbound Exit 48 Asylum Avenue, right onto Asylum Avenue, follow Asylum Avenue westbound, left onto Farmington Avenue, follow Farmington Avenue westbound to Sigourney Street.
