The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing scheduled nighttime lane closures on I-691 in Meriden, Southington, and Cheshire beginning on or around September 27, 2021.
The nighttime lane closure are necessary to facilitate construction activities associated with resurfacing, bridge rehabilitations, safety improvements, signing upgrades and illumination replacement.
A majority traffic impacts will occur during night work hours; Monday through Saturday 7:00pm to 6:00am and Sunday from 6:00pm to 8:00am on I-691 in the eastbound direction. On I-691 westbound night work hours are Monday through Saturday 7:00pm to 6:00am, and Sunday from 9:00pm to 9:00am.
DOT Project No. 0079-0244 was awarded to Manafort Brothers, Inc. at a cost of $48,865,177.75 on December 30, 2020.
