The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled closure and detour of Route 69 in Wolcott beginning at 8 AM on July 26, 2021, with an anticipated reopening on October 7, 2021. The closure and detour are necessary to facilitate construction activities for the replacement of Bridge 03240 carrying Route 69 over Mad River in Wolcott.
A five-mile detour will be implemented during the closure using Sharon Road, Woodtick Road, and Center Street:
- From Route 69 north travelling south take Center Street to Woodtick Road to Sharon Road.
- From Route 69 south travelling north take Sharon Road to Woodtick Road to Center Street.
DOT Project No. 0166-0103 was awarded to Guerrera Construction Co., of Oxford, CT at a cost of $2,434,417.40 on January 5, 2021, and is scheduled to be completed on October 7, 2021.
