The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of construction activities for the rehabilitation of Bridge 05844A carrying I-84 eastbound over Route 15 in Hartford beginning on May 20, 2021.
The project consists of replacement of bridge joints, substructure repairs, ultra-high-performance concrete beam end repairs, and structural steel repairs (diaphragms replacements).
Traffic Impacts:
I-84 eastbound between Exits 55 and 58:
- Expect nighttime temporary lane closures between 7 P.M. to 6 A.M.
I-84 westbound between Exits 58 and 57:
- Expect nighttime temporary lane closures between 8 P.M. to 6 A.M.
I-84 eastbound off -ramp to HOV Lane:
- Expect nighttime temporary Ramp closures between 8 P.M. to 8 A.M.
Route 15 northbound (East Hartford):
- Expect nighttime temporary lane closures between 8 P.M. to 6 A.M.
Route 15 southbound (East Hartford)
- Expect nighttime temporary lane closures between 8 P.M. to 8 A.M.
DOT Project No. 0042-0325 was awarded to New England Infrastructure, Inc. at a cost of $3,265,959.00 on April 30, 2021, and is scheduled to be completed on November 22, 2021.
