The project consists of Intersection Improvements on Route 34 at SR 490 and Toddy Hill Road and SR 490 at I-84 Interchange, in the Town of Newtown.
DOT Project No. 0096-0204 was awarded to A M Rizzo Electrical Contractors, Inc. at a cost of $25,188,198.00 on September 21, 2021 and is scheduled to be completed by May 2, 2024. The work is being administered by the State of Connecticut District 4 Office of Construction.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Commencing Monday, October 18, 2021, alternating one-way traffic can be expected for the start of roadway construction. Whenever possible two-way traffic will be maintained.
The Contractor shall not interfere with traffic Monday through Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Travelers should expect alternating one-way traffic will be controlled by Municipal Police and Traffic Flaggers.
Additional work hours and ramps detours will be announced at a later date.
