The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of construction activities on April 19, 2021, for the replacement of Bridge 02675 carrying Route 146 over Sybil Creek in Branford.
Motorists should anticipate lane closures on Route 146 with alternating one-way traffic from:
- April 19 to June 1, 2021, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- September 1, 2021, to December 27, 2021, between 9 AM and 3 PM, and 6 PM to 6 AM
No construction activity will take place from June 1 to August 31, 2021.
* Note: a 15-day closure and detour of Route 146 is anticipated in the Fall to facilitate Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) activities. Detour information will be posted on changeable message signs at the approaches to the project area and additional notification will be issued via future press release.
DOT Project No. 0014-0177 was awarded to C.J. Fucci Construction at a cost of $1,534,958.90 on September 1, 2020, and is scheduled to be completed by December 27, 2021.
