The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that one lane on Route 5/15 southbound in East Hartford will be closed for the upcoming weekend from Friday night, August 27, at 9:00 PM, until Monday morning, August 30, 2021, at 6:00 AM. Only one travel lane will remain open during the scheduled closure. The closure is necessary to facilitate ongoing construction activities associated with the I-91 Charter Oak Bridge project.
Closure Details
The one-lane closure is anticipated to begin at I-84 westbound Exit 57 and end at Route 5/15 southbound Exit 86. Expect delays on Route 5/15 southbound as well as on the roadways leading to, and entering it.
The on-ramp to Route 5/15 southbound from East River Drive Extension will be closed during this time period. Motorists wishing to enter Route 5/15 southbound from East River Drive Extension will be detoured east on East River Drive Extension, onto Silver Lane, and take a right onto the on-ramp to Route 5/15 southbound.
