The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the upcoming scheduled weekend closures and detours of Route 133 over the Housatonic River in Bridgewater and Brookfield. The first closure will begin on Friday, June 19, at 8:00 PM until 5:00 AM, Monday morning, June 21. The second closure will begin on Friday, June 26, at 10:00 PM until 5:00 AM, Monday morning, June 28.
The closures and detours are necessary to facilitate ongoing construction activities associated with the rehabilitation of Bridge 01343, which carries Route 133 over the Housatonic River.
The contractor is allowed to fully detour traffic around the bridge utilizing Routes 133, 67, 7/202 and 25.
DOT Project No. 0018-0134 was awarded to Mohawk Northeast,Inc. at a cost of $9,864,415.50 on December 18, 2018, and is scheduled to be completed by July 10, 2020.
