The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing upcoming scheduled closures of Route 8 southbound in Waterbury to facilitate ongoing construction activities associated with the Route 8/I-84 Interchange (Mixmaster) rehabilitation project.
Route 8 Southbound (starting at Exit 32) will be closed:
- Sunday, November 1, from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
- Monday, November 2, through Friday, November 6, between the hours of 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Detour Information:
Motorists should follow the Route 8 southbound to Exit 32 (Riverside Street). Follow Riverside Street to Route 8 southbound Naugatuck/Bridgeport on-ramp.
This closure may cause traffic impacts due to the Exit 19 ramp (from I-84 westbound to Route 8 southbound) also being closed. The Connecticut Department of Transportation is urging motorists to seek an alternative route if possible.
