The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled closure of the I-395 northbound Exit 13B off-ramp in Norwich on December 2, 2020. Traffic will be detoured to Exit 14. The closure is necessary to facilitate the replacement of existing three-cable guiderail with new guiderail, the installation of an impact attenuation system in the exit gore area, and grading and slope protection along the ramp where required.
Temporary concrete barriers will be installed along the right shoulder of I-395 NB and along the left shoulder and gore area of the Exit 13B ramp to allow for the safe completion of the work.
The ramp closure will start at 7:00 PM and be removed by 6:00 AM. Traffic will be detoured to Exit 14. At the end of the ramp, motorists will be directed to take a left onto West Town Street (SR 642) to Routes 2 west and 32 north in Norwich.
Motorists will be guided by a combination of detour and construction signage, changeable message sign(s), and State/Municipal Police.
Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through work zones. Signing patterns, associated traffic devices, police will be used throughout the work zones.
