The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing two scheduled weekend closures of Route 133 over the Housatonic River in Bridgewater and Brookfield. The first closure date will take place Friday, June 19, 2020, at 10 PM until 5 AM, Monday morning, June 21, 2020. The second closure will take place Friday, June 26, 2020 at 10 PM, until 5 AM, Monday morning June 28, 2020.
The scheduled closures are necessary to facilitate construction activities associated with the rehabilitation of Bridge 01343 which carries Route 133 over the Housatonic River in Bridgewater and Brookfield.
Traffic will be detoured during the closures using Routes 133, 67, 7/202 and 25. Signing and portable message boards will be in use to help direct traffic.
DOT Project No. 0018-0134 was awarded to Mohawk Northeast, Inc. at a cost of $9,864,415.50 on December 18, 2018 and is scheduled to be completed by July 10, 2020.
