The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that guiderail upgrades will be performed on I-84 eastbound and westbound in the center median between Exits 67 and 68, in Vernon and Tolland.
The project consists of upgrading guiderail over a 3.75-mile. Work is anticipated to occur from Monday, November 30, 2020, to Friday, January 29, 2021. No work will be performed on the day before or after the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Holiday. The regular work schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday).
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s VIP Safety Improvements Project.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect left lane closures on Interstate 84 between exits 67 and 68. Traffic control personnel, signing patterns and State Police will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday).
Motorists are advised to remain alert, drive cautiously, and to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.
