The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of roadway construction activities for Project 0099-0114/0115, Railroad-Highway Grade Crossing Improvements at Route 7 and 44 (Main Street) in North Canaan. Work activity will begin the week of September 28, 2020.

Beginning on Monday September 28, 2020, alternating one-way traffic can be expected for the start of roadway construction. Whenever possible two-way traffic will be maintained. Alternating one-way traffic will be controlled by flaggers.
The contractor will not interfere with traffic Monday through Friday between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM, and between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
DOT Project No. 0099-0114/0115 was awarded to NJR Construction, LLC at a cost of $2,158,970.00 on May 21, 2020, and is scheduled to be completed by July 8, 2021.
