The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that wrong way driver detection preventative maintenance and recertification will be performed on Route 8 in Waterbury, Litchfield, Harwinton, Beacon Falls, Derby, Thomaston, Ansonia, Torrington and Naugatuck.

- Route 8 Northbound at Exit 31 in Waterbury
- Route 8 Southbound at Exit 21 in Beacon Falls
- Route 8 Southbound at Exit 12B in Derby
- Route 8 Northbound at Exit 13A in Ansonia
Wednesday, April 1, 2026 | 7:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m.
- Route 8 North and Southbound at Exit 25A in Naugatuck
- Route 8 Northbound at Exit 27 in Naugatuck
Thursday, April 2, 2026 | 7:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m.
- Route 8 Southbound at Exit 27 in Waterbury
- Route 8 Northbound at Exit 44 in Litchfield
- Route 8 Northbound at Exit 46 in Harwinton
- Route 8 Northbound at Exit 39 in Thomaston

The project 0170-3638 consists of wrong way driver detection preventative maintenance and recertification across District 4 in Connecticut. This project is being performed by State Forces, TAPCO, Fiber Optics Plus and Electrical Representatives.
