The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that the Mystic River Bascule Bridge will be operating on a modified schedule for bridge openings to marine traffic starting August 20, 2026. This modified schedule will help facilitate corrective work on Mystic River Bascule Bridge, U.S. Route 1 over the Mystic River in Groton and Stonington. The work consists of repairs to the mechanical and electrical systems.

Effective August 20, 2026 until further notice, the bridge will be operating on a modified opening schedule with openings for marine traffic at 7:40 a.m., 11:40 a.m., 2:40 p.m. and 6:40 p.m. This modified schedule will be in effect until repairs can be completed.
