The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing the replacement of Bridge No. 03474, carrying Route 200 over I-395 in Thompson. This project is scheduled to start on Thursday, October 8, 2026 and be completed on Friday, November 19, 2027. Project 0141-0158 consists of the full replacement of the structure, drainage improvements on I-395 and Route 200, and guiderail improvements on I-395.
The demolition of the bridge carrying Route 200 over I-395 is tentative to start in spring through fall 2027. Another release with more detailed information will be sent out closer to the start of the demolition in spring 2027.
CTDOT Project No. 0141-0158 was awarded to ROTHA Contracting Company, Inc at a cost of $9,454,142.55 on August 25, 2026 and is scheduled to be completed November 19, 2027. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 2 in Norwich.
Traffic control signing patterns and State Police will guide motorists through the work zone.
