Pavement Preservation in East Haddam Lyme Old Lyme and North Stonington

3/27/2026

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that pavement preservation will be performed on Route 156 in East Haddam/Lyme/Old Lyme and Route 201 in North Stonington starting on April 1, 2026.

As part of the 2026 Pavement Preservation Program, a new project is set to begin on Route 156, from mile point 0.00 to 8.43, and on Route 201, from mile point 1.94 to 4.13. This project aims to revitalize existing wearing surface and extend the lifespan of the pavement of these corridors.  The asphalt rubberized chip seal treatment is applied on roadways that remain structurally sound but require surface rejuvenation. Project 0172-0553 consists of surface patching, crack sealing, and placement of asphalt rubberized chip seal.

CTDOT Project No. 0172-0553 was awarded to Commer Contracting, Inc. at a cost of $2,507,889.00 on December 17, 2025, and is scheduled to be completed on October 09, 2026. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 2 in Norwich.
