Pavement Marking Project on State Routes in Central Connecticut

The project consists of pavement marking grooves, centerline rumble strips and epoxy pavement marking applications on center lines, shoulder lines and handwork on State Routes in Enfield, Somers, West Hartford, Bloomfield, Vernon, Union, Bolton, Coventry, Andover, Plainville, Bristol, Meriden, Cromwell, Glastonbury, Wolcott, Cromwell, New Britain, Southington and Rocky Hill. This project is scheduled to occur Sunday, August 30 to Friday, November 6, 2026, by Safety Markings Inc.  No work will be performed the day before or day after all State recognized holidays.

 

This project is being performed by Safety Markings Inc. The locations for this work are listed below:

  • Route 190 in Enfield and Somers
  • Route 189 in West Hartford and Bloomfield
  • State Road 527 in Vernon
  • Route 171 in Union
  • Route 6 in Bolton, Coventry and Andover
  • Route 72 in Plainville and Bristol
  • Route 15 in Meriden
  • Route 99 in Cromwell
  • Route 83 in Glastonbury
  • Route 322 in Wolcott
  • Route 372 in Cromwell
  • Route 71 in New Britain and West Hartford
  • Route 229 in Southington
  • I-91 South in Cromwell / Rocky Hill

 

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

Traffic control personnel, sign patterns, cones, and truck mounted attenuators will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. (Sunday – Friday) on secondary and 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Expressways

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
