The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 4 in Torrington. This project is scheduled to occur on Tuesday, September 8 and be completed on Sunday, September 27, 2026.The project 0174-0488CN “F” consists of milling and resurfacing a 1.62-mile segment of Route 4 in Torrington from Route 202 (East Main Street) to the Harwinton Town Line. This project is scheduled to begin milling by Black and Boucher on Tuesday, September 8 and be completed Friday, September 11, 2026. The resurfacing segment of this project by O&G Industries is anticipated to begin on Sunday, September 20 to Sunday, September 27, 2026.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 4 from Route 202 (East Main Street) to the Harwinton Town Line in Torrington. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The night work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday – Thursday. Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
