The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that metallizing of bridges No. 01737A and No. 01737B (carrying Route 8 over Laurel Hill Road) will be performed in Torrington. Work is scheduled to occur on Wednesday, April 22 and be completed on Monday, June 22, 2026. The project No. 0065-0114 consists of Metallizing of 19 Bridges along the route 8 corridor between Torrington and Colebrook.
CTDOT Project No. 0065-0114 was awarded to Allied Painting Inc. at a cost of $15,757,497.05 on 12/22/2024 and is scheduled to be completed 11/30/2027. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 4 in Thomaston.

Laurel Hill Road will be closed to all traffic starting Wednesday, April 22 to Monday, June 22, 2026. Traffic will need to seek alternate routes or follow posted detour signs.
