The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that daytime lane closures will be implemented to install membrane waterproofing on the I-95 bridge over Lieutenant River in Old Lyme. This work will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, starting Monday, September 21 through Thursday, October 1, 2026. Delays are expected during these hours.
CTDOT Project No. 0172-0548 was awarded to Hammonasset Construction, LLC at a cost of $1,932,636.00 on April 29, 2026, and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2026. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 2 in Norwich.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
There will be various lane closures on I-95 during the daytime, Monday through Thursday, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., starting Monday, September 21 through Thursday, October 1, 2026. Traffic control signing patterns and State Police will guide motorists through the work zone.
