Bridge Rehabilitation on Route 7 in Norwalk

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing a Bridge Rehabilitation Project will take place on Route 7 in Norwalk. This project is scheduled to start on Sunday May 10, 2026, and be completed on Sunday, May 16, 2027.

CTDOT Project No. 0102-0380 was awarded to Waters Construction Company at a cost of $12,056,087.84 on April 6, 2026 and is scheduled to be completed May 16, 2027.  This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 3 New Haven.

The work is being performed by Waters Construction Company

 

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

Motorists can expect temporary lane closures on Route 7, as well as temporary Exit closures to Route 7 from I-95 North and South, Exit 15, Route 15 North, Exit 16, Route 7 North, Exit 2, Route 7 South, Exit 1,  and On-Ramp closures to Route 7 from Van Buren Avenue, West Avenue, Belden Avenue, and New Canaan Avenue in Norwalk starting on Monday, May 18, 2026.

Detours will be in place for any ramp closures. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through and around the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Monday to Friday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
