The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing bridge joint work will be performed on I-84 and Route 8 in Middlebury and Waterbury. This project is scheduled to occur on Sunday, June 28 and be completed on Friday, October 9, 2026. This project ensures the bridges remain in a state of good repair.

- I-84 East over Route 188 (Bridge 01171)
- I-84 West over Route 63 (Bridge 01174)
- I-84 East over Route 63 (Bridge 01173)
- Route 8 North Near Exit 27 (Bridge 03179)
- Route 8 South Near Exit 27 (Bridge 03178)
This project is being performed by DSA (Dynamic Surface Applications).
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
There will be lane closures on I84 and Route 8 from Sunday, June 28 to Friday, October 9, 2026, from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Traffic control signing patterns will be in place with State Police to guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
