The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a traffic split will be in place to perform prefabricated joint installation on southbound I-95 in Westport. This work is scheduled to occur on Monday, July 14 and be completed on Sunday, August 17, 2025. The project 0102-0295 consists of median replacement, resurfacing, drainage and safety improvements on I-95 in Norwalk and Westport.
CTDOT Project No. 0102-0295 was awarded to Yonkers Contracting Company at a cost of $103,411,848 on April 30, 2022, and is scheduled to be completed by August 31, 2025. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 3 in New Haven.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
There will be a traffic split with the same number of lanes (three) on southbound I-95 between Exits 17 and 18 from Monday, July 14 to Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Traffic control signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The traffic split will happen in two phases with the first phase completed by July 30, 2025, by 6:00 a.m. In the first phase, traffic will be split into two lanes on the right and a single lane on the left with the work area in the middle and one lane on the right and two lanes on the left with the work area in the middle in the second phase of the split. In both phases, the motorists headed to Exit 17 off-ramp shall have to travel in the right lane. Motorists are required to stay in their lanes while going through the traffic split.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
