The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT is announcing work due to the sinkhole caused by the collapse of an underground spillway wall on Route 110 in Shelton will resume between Center Street and Cornell Street on Monday March 17, 2025.
The work will include the repair of a collapsed wall, installation of new drainage structures and repair of the currently closed sidewalk.
The work is being performed by Mohawk Northeast, Inc.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect a closure of Route 110 southbound from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Motorists should follow the posted detour. Shelton police will be onsite, and preference will be given to emergency vehicles if needed. There are currently no plans to detour the northbound portion of the roadway at this time.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
