The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that rehabilitation of bridge over Straitsville Brook will be performed on Route 63 in Naugatuck. This project is scheduled to occur on Thursday, January 8, 2026, and be completed on Friday, October 1, 2027. The project 0087-0148 rehabilitation of the culvert will consist of relining the existing pipe with a new pipe along with addressing the slope failure downstream. To accomplish this, overhead utilities will need to be relocated, TERS will be installed, and an access road will be constructed to allow machinery to have proper access to the site.
CTDOT Project No. 0087-0148 was awarded to Dayton Construction at a cost of $1,690,159.00 on November 24, 2025, and is scheduled to be completed October 1, 2027. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 4 in Thomaston.

There will be intermediate, alternating one way traffic on Route 63 as needed for construction. Traffic control signing patterns, flagger and municipal police officers will guide motorists through the work zone.
