The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that pavement preservation on Routes 82 and 144 will begin on May 5, 2025 in Chester, Deep River, East Haddam, Lyme, Salem, Bozrah and Montville.
As part of the 2025 Pavement Preservation Program, the purpose of this project is to improve the existing wearing surface and extend the life of the pavement on Routes 82 and 145. The Asphalt Rubberized Chip Seal treatment is for roadways that are in structurally good condition with pavement surfaces that are also in fair to good condition. The project consists of surface patching, crack sealing, and placement of Asphalt Rubberized Chip Seal.
CTDOT Project No. 0172-0540 was awarded to All States Construction, Inc. at a cost of $3,322,046.00 on January 27, 2025, and is scheduled to be completed November 25, 2025. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 2 in Norwich.

There will be Alternating One Way Traffic on Route 82 in East Haddam – Lyme and Route 145 in Chester – Deep River, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Route 82 in Salem, Bozrah, and Montville, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. -]to 06:00 a.m. There will be alternating one way traffic on Route 82 &145, Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m.
