The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing a Pavement Preservation Program will be performed on I-91 and I-95 in East Lyme, Old Lyme, Rocky Hill, and Wethersfield. This project is scheduled to start on Monday, August 11 and be completed on Sunday, November 23, 2025. The project 0170-3736 consists of Reset and replace catch basin tops, surface patching, partial depth patching, joint & crack sealing, Place Ultra-Thin Bonded PMA, Emulsified Asphalt Fog Seal and Perform deficient guiderail replacement. Resurfacing of I-91 Begins in Rocky Hill just before Exit 23 interchange and extends to the Elm Street overpass in Wethersfield. Resurfacing of I-95 begins in Old Lyme just after the Baldwin Bridge and extends to the Rocky Neck Connector overpass in East Lyme.
CTDOT Project No. 0170-3736 was awarded to American Industries Inc./Roma Corp. JV at a cost of $11,600,000.00 on February 14, 2025, and is scheduled to be completed November 23, 2025. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 & 2 in East Lyme, Old Lyme, Rocky Hill, and Wethersfield.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
There will be temporary lane closures and ramps closures as required on I-91 and I-95 from Monday, August 11 to Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Traffic control signing patterns and variable message signs will be utilized and the traffic will be detoured for ramp construction work with advance warning signs and detour signs. State Troopers will guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
