The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that pavement preservation will be performed on I-91 north and southbound from Exit 45-49 in East Windsor and Enfield. This project is scheduled to start Monday, April 21 and be completed April 2027. The project consists of fine milling, pavement repairs, joint and crack filling and placement of new pavement and pavement markings. This preservation treatment applies to mainline I-91 and all interstate on and off-ramps within the project limits.
CTDOT Project No. 0046-0131 was awarded to Tilcon Connecticut, Inc. at a cost of $30,674,887.00 on March 26, 2025, and is scheduled to be completed in April 2027. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
There will be lanes closed on I-91 north and southbound from Exit 45-49 nightly, Sunday through Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. There will also be lane and shoulder closures daily Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Traffic control signing patterns, State and local police and flaggers will guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
