The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that there will be a new north platform opening (track 3 – New York bound east side) and the closing of the existing north Platform (Track 3 – New York bound west side) at the Darien Train Station starting on Monday, January 5, 2026.
DOT Project No. 0301-0195 was awarded to Banton Construction, Inc. at a cost of $31,972,395.49 on August 3, 2023, and is scheduled to be completed August 2026. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 5 in New Haven.

Measures will be in place (signs/traffic people) to direct commuters to the proper route to use. The Track 3 West side of the platform will close, and the New Track 3 East side of the platform will open on January 5, 2026. Wayfinding signs will be installed throughout station.
